About Egypt Central

On October 2, 2002, a group of young musicians came together to form the band Egypt Central. For one year, nothing was happening for the band. These young men, still determined, diligently wrote and recorded until they generated a buzz in their hometown of Memphis, Tennessee.[citation needed] After eight shows, the band caught the attention of former Lava Records CEO Jason Flom. Impressed with their demo, he immediately offered the band a record deal after seeing their live performance. Their debut album was recorded with renowned producer Josh Abraham in Los Angeles.

Due to overwhelming demand, the band self-released their Lava-recorded album on-line through independent retailer CD Baby, and at selected music stores throughout Memphis. Their CD debuted at #1 for independent releases in Memphis, going on to sell nearly 7,000 copies within a few months.

On April 1, 2006, the band signed a deal with independent label Bieler Bros. Records, with the intention of releasing the band's Lava album. However, in late July, it was announced that the band had parted ways with the label. No reason was given, but the band stated that "it was a simple decision made in the best interest of both parties". The album was set for release on August 22.

Egypt Central's song "Taking You Down" was selected to be on the soundtrack for the movie The Cave.

The song "Over and Under" was selected to be on the soundtrack and in the movie The Condemned.

In the summer of 2007, Egypt Central played several dates with Ozzfest. They performed on the Second Stage. They also played several dates with the Family Values Tour, were they opened the main stage.

Bubba The Love Sponge had them on his "Unsigned Band Review" mistakenly calling them "Egyptian Central". He also gave the band the best review of any band on the "Unsigned Band Review"; he is also part of the credit to their success, and he believes he is the reason they got on Ozzfest.[citation needed] <-- That needs citation because it is not entirely true. He tried to help and probably succeeded by helping them get into Ozzfest, but does not think that without him they were not good enough to land there by themselves.

On October 5, 2007, Egypt Central officially signed a record deal with Fat Lady Music/ILG, distributed by ADA. The original CD has been remixed and remastered with new artwork and was released to retailers nationwide on January 15, 2008 featuring their new single "You Make Me Sick". The entire recording is now available on iTunes and in record stores everywhere.

The band has added a group of new songs to their live shows. All songs are expected to be included on the band's second album, which is currently[when?] being recorded.

The songs "You Make Me Sick" and "Taking You Down" are on the WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2009 soundtrack.

The band has finished working on their second record with Abraham Laboriel Jr. and plan on releasing it later in 2010, after they have finished a "pre-album release" tour. This is the only time fans will be able to listen to some songs of the new album, before a single is released.

About Planet Rock BC (Battle Creek, Michigan

Planet Rock was the love child spawned from BoJangles under the ownership of Jim and A.J. McNutt in August of 1989, with bands like POT HEAD, 10 GAUGE RAGE, MAN UNKIND, and CRUTCH being some of the first bands to take center stage. JACKYL raised the roof (which wasn't even finished yet), while POT HEAD used sledge hammers and took the wall down that divided the old BOJANGLES from the new PLANET ROCK, and the birth of something big was on the way.

Over the years, Planet Rock has housed 100's of National acts, from JACKYL, LA GUNS, DOKKEN, RATT, and SKID ROW, to SALIVA, TANTRIC, TAPROOT, DOPE, MUSHROO HEAD, and PRONG, with many more in between. Planet Rock has been home to many, many bands around the tri-state area, and have always been proud supporters of the local music scene.

With many local bands gone big, like POP EVIL, calling P-ROCK HOME. With the bringing of 2010, Planet rock will undergo changes. Jim and A.J have announced their retirement, with a big party on Jan 30th, hosting POP EVIL.

As of March 2010, Bruce Tuck has taken over as the owner, which gave birth to new beginnings. The one thing that didn't change is the dedication to our loyal customers, and customers to be, our support to the local music scene, and our drive to bring to you the best music possible.
